The Laramie Project

More coming this summer…

By the beginning of the 21-22 school year, this site will be a place to get information about current and past productions, classes, helping out, and other educational resources for the drama student in South Pasadena.

In the meantime, please check out some of the excellent work these students created this year during this stay-at-home year:

The HEADLINES

  • SPHS Drama is a CTE program in the Visual and Performing Arts pathway.

  • Drama One (9-12) introduces professional-level acting techniques and show students how to take the first steps toward a performing arts career beyond high school

  • Building on the skills and experiences from Drama One, Drama Two prepares students for a post-secondary career in the performing arts through professional-level training, the building of a professional portfolio, and opportunities to create original material (prerequisite: Drama 1 or permission of Mr Hoffa)

  • Productions (the fall play and spring musical) hold open auditions for the entire student body

  • Other highlights include workshops from professionals in the field, trips to local elementary schools, end-of-year showcases, and many writing oppotunities.

  • Drama students work with Mr Hoffa for Drama, Mr Jontz for Stagecrew, Ms Cheyne for Dance, and Ms Jones for Choir
